Practice formats

Jeetmora is a practice club for people preparing for public-speaking and debate competitions.

Practice with a specific purpose

Compare the purpose, preparation and scope of each part of the work.

Coach listening attentively to an adult speaker

Competition speaking

Work on the shape of a speech, the clarity of a central claim and the relationship between examples and conclusions. Practice can focus on an opening, a short prepared address or a competition-style response. A useful rehearsal makes room for revision rather than asking the speaker to repeat an entire performance without knowing what to change.

Debate encounters

Structured debate meetings provide a setting for claims, challenges and considered replies. Agree the motion, speaking order and time limits before the exchange. Participants practise distinguishing the strongest opposing argument from a convenient version of it, and learn to connect a rebuttal to the issue that is actually being discussed.

Focused coaching

A coaching conversation begins with a specific performance question. That might involve pacing, signposting, evidence or answering a difficult interruption. Bringing a short extract and explaining the event format gives the discussion a useful boundary. Feedback identifies a manageable next step and a way to recognise the difference in the following rehearsal.

Bring your next speaking challenge

Describe the event, the speaking format and the aspect you want to practise. A short outline is more useful than sending a complete collection of recordings at the first contact. Include preferred timings in IST and whether the conversation concerns club participation, a group encounter or focused coaching.
